Why we use the name Orange to name our curriculum?
The name Think Orange is an analogy to the union of primary colors, yellow and red. Together, these colors create a higher impact color: orange. This analogy was created to illustrate the biblical principle of Deuteronomy 6. First, love God and then teach your children and your children's children to love God. In addition, God's people (Israel / church) are called to be part of this education as family allies. In this text, the instructions for Christian education are clear and so are the educational agents: family and church.
In this sense, the Think Orange idea stands out for its emphasis on the importance of partnership between the church and the family. This partnership is a Divine ordinance, in which God emphasizes that the responsibility for the spiritual education and training of their children rests with their parents, and the church should support them in this formation by providing tools for these parents or guardians to develop daily discipleship in their lives and children’s lives influencing their faith to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Methodology
The whole methodology used in the curriculum from nursery to adolescent is thought and developed pedagogically in order to achieve the objectives, obtaining a solid and genuine spiritual formation in the life of each individual. Remembering that this is made possible through the partnership with each family and their involvement, continuing at home about what was taught over the weekend.
The curriculum promotes a biblical formation
From the nursery biblical concepts are introduced according to each age group. The curriculum has an annual scope presenting the themes, concepts to be addressed, all stories and biblical references for each week.
Stage One - Children From 0 to 5 - First Look
The material used in the 0-5 year-old preschool (First Look) is designed to connect children with God simply but deeply. That's why 3 basic truths are always presented throughout the year: GOD LOVES ME, GOD MADE ME, AND JESUS WANTS TO BE MY FRIEND FOREVER.
Children at Elementary Age I - 252 Basics
In the age group of 6 to 11 years, the material used (252 KIDS) always challenges children to make the wise choice; trusting God no matter what happens; and treating others as they would like to be treated. These 3 basic truths run through the entire curriculum of this age group through biblical stories.
Children from 12-17 - XP3 Middle School & High School
With three relational motives: Moving kids and teens to love God by inciting wonder. Moving kids and teens to love life by provoking discovery and finally, moving kids and teens to love others by fueling passion.
Differentials
One of the great differentials is that our curriculum is developed with innovative teaching practices, making Think Orange material relevant to today's children and adolescents. Bible lessons and small group activities are fun and engaging, building relationships with God and friendship with others.
In addition, the material is also adaptable to the reality, size and shape of IBC church. To facilitate preparation, it is divided into areas in digital archives, facilitating and streamlining volunteer work and communication with families.
Another differential that the material of Think Orange brings is the didactic quality. All material is produced with high standard graphic arts making it attractive to the target audience.
