Parents Preview for August 2022
The most amazing work of art is the one we see in the mirror each day—people! God made everything, but people are God’s most wonderful creation because we are the only creation made in God’s very own image. God made us to think and figure things out, to create and invent, and to help others—just like God.
Every time we look in the mirror and look at another person, we are seeing God’s masterpiece. We want preschoolers to know that they are wonderfully made because of WHO made them—THE awesome artist— God!
7’Ups (7-9 years old) & Preteens (10-12 years old)
Love starts and ends with God. Love has always been the point of how God has interacted with the world. Since the beginning of time, God’s love has always been on display. That’s why we chose love to kick off a year through the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation, God inspired writers of Scripture, whose works come together to tell God’s Big Story. But God’s love isn’t just about what happened in history. God loves US today! And we have the chance to share God’s love with others, right here and now. We know that God loved us first. God loved us enough to send Jesus for us. In response, we can show how much we love God by loving others . . . and showing people how much they matter to us.

Bubbles & Bouncies (Toddlers + Preschoolers) -August Week 3
WEEK 3 - We will see just how wonderfully made we are when we talk about how all people are made in God’s image. That means God made us to think and figure things out, to create and invent, and to help others when they need it. We are wonderfully made because we are made in God’s image! Story Focus: I am wonderfully made in God’s image.
7’Ups (7-9 years old) - August Week 3
No matter how we might mess up in life, God will never, ever stop loving us. We explore this idea in week three, as we head to Genesis 3. Here, we see that although Adam and Eve had an unbroken, loving relationship with God, ultimately they decided not to trust God’s plan. God gave them one simple rule to obey: don’t eat from that tree. Adam and Eve decided to break the one rule... and when they did, it changed the course of history. But God never stopped loving people. God had a plan to continue a relationship with us—which culminated when God sent Jesus to be our Savior. Bottom Line: God loves us no matter what. The fact is, we’re like Adam and Eve. We’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. But we also know that God still loves us, and that will never, ever change. God loved us enough to send Jesus for us. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, we can have a relationship with God that will last forever.
Preteens (10-12 years old) - August Week 3
Key Question: Who has loved you even when you’ve messed up? Preteens know when they’ve missed the mark. We all do. Hopefully we’ve also all experienced what it’s like when someone forgives us and chooses to let it go. As we discuss this question, let’s help students understand that we never have to wonder if God will forgive us. We know that God sent Jesus to make things right with us, once and for all. This week, let’s help preteens understand that God’s love has no boundaries. No matter how we might mess up in life, God will never, ever stop loving us. We explore this idea in week three, as we head to Genesis 3. Here, we see that although Adam and Eve had an unbroken, loving relationship with God, ultimately they decided not to trust God’s plan.
